Issue

  • How i can change the VNC Keyboard Layout in RHEV3
  • Which kayboard language layouts are supported?

Environment

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Virtualization (RHEV) v3.X

Resolution

qemu-kvm in RHEV 3 currently supports the following language layouts.

ar de-ch es fo fr-ca hu ja mk no pt-br sv
da en-gb et fr fr-ch is lt nl pl ru th
de en-us fi fr-be hr it lv nl-be pt sl tr

The default is "en-us".

1) The  layout can be changed using the rhevm-config tool as follows.

#rhevm-config -g VncKeyboardLayout
VncKeyboardLayout: en-us version: general
#rhevm-config -s VncKeyboardLayout=<langauge code>

2) After changing language layout restart the jbossas service if you're using 3.0 and ovirt-engine if its 3.1 and later.

    # service restart jbossas
    #service ovirt-engine restart

Note : The jbossas/ovirt-engine service should be restarted to pick the new changes.
