The output of netstat -rn shows the value 0 for the MSS. What is the meaning of this value?

The output of the netstat -nr command usually shows something like this:

# netstat -nr
Kernel IP routing table
Destination     Gateway         Genmask         Flags   MSS Window  irtt Iface
192.168.0.0     0.0.0.0         255.255.255.0   U         0 0          0 eth0
169.254.0.0     0.0.0.0         255.255.0.0     U         0 0          0 eth0
