• Which Hitachi HA8000 and HA8000-es servers are supported by Red Hat and which are jointly supported by Red Hat and Hitachi?

Environment

• Hitachi HA8000 and HA8000-es servers with RAID feature

Resolution

The Hitachi HA8000 and HA8000-es model RS210 and RS220 servers have the following optional Host Bus Adapters (HBA)s:

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) supported HBA
  • LSI SAS 1078
  • LSI SAS 2108
  • LSI SAS 9200-8e
• Hitachi supported proprietary HBA and associated binary driver
  • Hitachi HAC71

Any support requests involving the proprietary HBA and its binary driver would be handled by Hitachi. All other issues, and all issues on systems without the HAC71 HBA, would be handled by Red Hat.
