Setting up a ISW RAID1 Volume

The isw is a fakeraid format supported through the Intel chips such as 82801R and referred to as ICHxR, with ICH9R and ICH10R being currently the most prevalent.

Fakeraid format disks have boot support within BIOS whereas pure software raid does not.

Yeah, you can boot off of mdraid RAID1 -- but you're really booting off ...
