How can I synchronise my system time with the time server?

To synchronise the system time with a time server, use the command:

#ntpdate <time server>

For example:

# ntpdate clock1.redhat.com
14 Oct 15:59:09 ntpdate[21833]: adjust time server 66.187.233.4 offset -0.001433 sec

The command above will only work if ntpd is not running, otherwise ntpdate will retur...
