Issue:

  • Intel boards with integrated Matrox G200 video will require to use the VESA driver on 32bit RHEL 5 to avoid a graphics hang issue.

Environment:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 32bit
  • Intel motherboard with integrated Matrox MGA G200

Resolution:

  • Change the video driver to "vesa" in the "Device" section of the xorg.conf file.
