This paper is a result of collaboration between Red Hat and SAS to recommend the best practices for configuring SAS 9.2 running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6. Areas researched include I/O subsystem and file system selection, and kernel tuning, both in a bare metal and virtualized (KVM) environment.
