How can I add LDAP users to local groups?

When storing user information in an LDAP server, it is sometimes desirable assign them to groups defined locally on an Red Hat Enterprise Linux server. To acheive this, the local group database should be edited with the gpasswd command.
# getent passwd | grep netuser
netuser:*:11815:11815:Network User:/home/remote/netuser:/bin/bash
# gpasswd -a netuser localad...Subscriber exclusive content
