Why does yum fail with an error that a repo is listed more than once?

Release Found: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2 running yum-rhn-plugin-0.5.3-6.el5_2.6.
Problem:
Running yum clean all results in an error similar to the following:
$ yum clean all
Loading "rhnplugin" plugin
Loading "security" plugin
Repository test-repo is listed more than once in the configuration
<...>Subscriber exclusive content
