How to remove the trash can from the desktop?

There are two ways to complete this.
GUI Tool
1. Install gconf-editor:
# yum install gconf-editor
2. Run:
# gconf-editor
3.Toggle the trash_icon_visible under apps=>nautilus=>desktop.
