What do the timers displayed by the "-o" argument of the ss command mean

There are 4 timers, but only one can be active at a time

  • keepalive is shown when the socket has enabled keepalive and the connection is idle. The typical starting timeout value is 2 hours but it can vary depending on system defaults and socket settings
