Why am I having xhost problem with vnc?

Steps to Reproduce:

/$home/.vnc/xstartup:

  #!/bin/sh
  # Red Hat Linux VNC session startup script
  #exec /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc
  xrdb $HOME/.Xresources
  xsetroot -solid grey
  xterm -geometry 80x24+10+10 -ls -title "$VNCDESKTOP Desktop" &

Solution:

You did not add an 'xhost +' line ...
