How do I set the block size for a SCSI tape device?
There is no system setting to set the block size for a tape device. However, the block size of the tape device is set by the program accessing the drive. For instance, if you are using tar, the option is -b or --block-size, cpio also uses --block-size, and dump uses -b. You can reference the man page for tar, cpio, dump or other commands to find out additional options.
