How can I set-up and access an IBM LTO Ultrium Tape Library 3582?

Release Found: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1
Symptom: This problem was found with an Adaptec 29160 SCSI card connected to LTO Ultrium Tape Library 3582. The BIOS can see the Media Changer. The operating system does not see the media changer. Below is sample output from dmesg showing that we can not see multiple luns:
dmesg | grep ULT
