What are UID/GID conflicts?

When gears are created on a node, OpenShift Enterprise (OSE) assigns a user ID (UID) and group ID (GID) to each gear as the gear user. The application user's login is the UUID of the gear. The mappings between UIDs and gear users can be seen in the /etc/passwd file on a node with existing applications.
