When running DMMP with arrays using the scsi_dh_rdac driver, the scsi_dh_rdac driver appears not to be loaded early enough during the boot process. The result of this is that when the array devices are attached to the system, all of the unowned paths will return "Illegal Request". This results in the system taking a relatively long time to boot.
