Why does Apache fail to restart after I update my RHN Satellite Server?

Apache RPMs do not restart the httpd service upon installation. Therefore, after conducting a full update of a RHN Satellite Server (such as with the command up2date -uf), Apache fails. The error will look something like:
[Mon Feb 10 11:50:12 2003] [notice] SIGHUP received. Attempting to restart
Syntax error on line 214 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load
