Red Hat Customer Portal: What's New on February 4, 2014

Updated -

We're pleased to announce the following enhancements to our Customer Portal included with our updates published on February 4, 2014. These features, along with numerous bug fixes and minor enhancements, are now available to all users.

Enhanced Email Notification Management

We've made it even easier for you to follow the content you're interested in by replacing the "Follow" selection list with a streamlined Follow button.

Clicking the Follow button on a piece of content turns on email notifications for that particular piece of content. If you want to turn on notifications for entire categories of content (such as content type, product name, or tag), use the "Edit notification preferences" link directly below the Follow button.

From that interface, which can also be accessed from your user profile, you can manage all of your notification preferences.

Improved Video Metadata

We're now including more information to improve your video search experience, whether you're searching here on the Customer Portal or on Google. If you search for videos here on the Customer Portal, you can see a list of tags that will help you find similar content. For those searching Google, you can see the video publish date and description, and soon you'll see more information and an accompanying thumbnail in the results.

An Easier Way to Find Your Case

If you know your case number and have the appropriate permissions to access that case, typing "case:123456" now takes you directly to case 123456 instead of redirecting you to the search/browse interface.
